The art of music flourished remarkably during the times of its prosperity and independence, but also declined during the times of depression and partition. The foundation stone of the Polish music was put down by the rites and rituals of the Roman Catholic Church.
Around the16th century, Poland had its taste of the Renaissance Movement.
